London
Country
Great Britain
Title/ degree
master
Field of studies
Finance and accounting

For me, studying at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics was the first significant step in my career path. However, I must admit that I wanted to defend my master's thesis and gain professional experience also outside Poland, because my dream was to study abroad. I think that British people and Americans are the best in the world in the field of management - and that is why for my one-year master's studies I chose Cass Business School, which offered huge development opportunities, classes with business practitioners, the opportunity to participate in networking meetings, and a high position in international rankings.

I did not expect to stay in London after studying in Cass. My expectations of my future employer (international organizational structure, corporate culture, access to training and development opportunities) led me to London's Bloomberg headquarters. During my career, it was important for me to get involved in projects that require understanding finance, and currently I am an Equity Analyst. We analyse giant international companies, in my portfolio of companies there are, for example, companies from the Polish market and machinery industry companies in EMEA. One of the most important elements is direct work with the client, and therefore Bloomberg provides its employees with trainings that help in quick detection of the causes of errors, solving problems, as well as alleviating customer emotions. Work is very variable and every day is different!

I constantly want to develop, work on my flaws and leave my comfort zone. My immediate plans include, first of all, obtaining the title of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) - next year I will have to pass the exam at the last level (Level 3). I am also thinking about learning SQL and Python languages.

I could not stop volunteering; it is a very important element in my life. It was volunteering - already when studying - that taught me how to work in an international environment, openness to other cultures, facing challenges, and, above all, it opened my eyes to the real problems that plague the world. In addition, I can assure you that a CV of a volunteer is much more interesting for a potential employer. The company I work for invests 90% of its profits in volunteer projects. I am involved in, i.e., feeding the homeless, collecting rubbish, packing and choosing Christmas presents for the poorest families, or organizing the Luminiere Festival. The list is very long!

My biggest success

Conducting an accurate valuation of the company during the seminar, which prompted the broker to use my opinion.

My advice for SGH students
During studies, devote your time to work and not to crazy parties. And during the holidays, engage in volunteering abroad.
